Purpose

Honors Probation is for students who are not in good standing with the Honors Program.  That is, a student who's cumulative GPA is between 2.7 and 3.199 or a student who received a C in an Honors course.  The probation is a one semester activity where students have regular meetings with the Honors Capstone Coordinator.  The Honors Program recognizes that all students may have a tough semester, and we intend this to be a mechanism to support students as they get back on their feet.  This is a required activity for any student not in good standing who wishes to retain their Honors Lounge privileges, receive the Honors Scholarship for that semester, and continue in Honors.

Lunches

Honors Probation is (generally) consists of a lunch scheduled every several weeks.  During these lunches, students discuss semester-long plans for improving their GPA, discuss their academic workload from week to week, and discuss whether they are following the plan.  These lunches are informal brown bag lunches, and take place in the Honors Lounge.
